England Deaf men and women both win in Bulgaria.

“Am I happy, no, I am over the moon, this is an unbelievable set of people who impress me more and more every time we come together” Sean Fletcher (Head coach)

So off we went for another historic event with England Deaf to play a full international tier two European team.

Our ladies played two games of sevens drawing the first game 25-25 after a very physical encounter against a talented Bulgaria national sevens squad. In the second game during the halftime break in the men's game our wonderful ladies dug deep to win 14-5. This is superb for the ladies who have limited deaf international teams to play against. Our ladies are leading the way in international deaf rugby and have quickly become the team to follow.

The men took several new players to this fixture with a team having a mix of experience and rawness, they set about taking on this extremely physical and talented Bulgarian team. After a very tough game the men came out on top 25-38 against the hosts with some outstanding displays from Henry Peuble (10), Craig Orrick (8) and Luke Nelson (14).

The future of EDRU looks extremely bright #silentrugby
