Braidwood School for the Deaf, located in Birmingham, houses over 60 young people with hearing loss. As part of their PE curriculum, Wasps visit the school on a weekly basis in order to develop the core rugby skills of the young people, many of which rely on British Sign Language as their main form of communication.
England Deaf Captain Luke Cheyne, a Wasps community Ambassador, was on hand to support the coaching session alongside Wasps coaches Jack and Julius.
The England Captain said “The staff obviously do a great job educating the pupils at the school, who overcome difficulties everyday due to such a communicational barrier."
"It is great to be able give something back to the community and support the fantastic work the guys at Wasps do on a regular basis across so many of their programmes and partnerships. Huge credit must go to Jordan Young at Wasps, and I'm really proud to be an ambassador for such a worth cause"
